Terence Thompson is a versatile producer, songwriter, artist, and musician. Over the span of his career, Terence has collaborated with a diverse group of artists, musicians, and producers across all genres of music to include Teddy Riley of Backstreet to prolific jazz drummer and producer Nate Smith. It was Terence who handpicked and recorded the music for Michael Jackson’s “Heaven Can Wait ”’ which was produced primarily by Nate Smith for Terence’s production company.

Terence also played a major role in helping to launch the career of Elliot Yamin. Terence mentored Yamin before and during his time on AI. Terence’s versatility as a songwriter and producer can also be heard on Monifah’s “Too Late” and “How Ya Gonna Luv Me” (Home project) Terence and Antoinique Parker penned the lyrics for both songs.

Terence also co-wrote God’s Image’s “There’s Only One Name.”

Terence wrote, arranged, and produced all of the tracks on “If I Only Hand A Band”

Terence is a self-taught musician with no formal training. His foundation for music production started when he was a teenager as a DJ for several local rap artists from Newport News, VA. Terence began to play the keyboard to help support samples used in his earlier productions. He would later elevate to producing sample-free music. If I Only Had A Band is a culmination of all of Terence’s musical influences. Terence would define himself as a producer/songwriter/artist first and secondly as a musician.
