Toy Taha is an American singer, songwriter, arranger, and performance artist from Philadelphia, PA. At age 5, Taha’s musicality first developed as she began randomly singing big vocal songs that her mother would play on vinyl by powerhouse vocalists like Shirley Murdoch, Teena Marie, Anita Baker, Stephanie Mills, Phyllis Hyman, and Whitney Houston. Taha's soulfulness grew as her paternal grandfather would play Muddy Waters, Bobby Blue Bland, James Brown, Aretha, B.B. King, and Ray Charles on vinyl and many other artists with really soulful voices. Taha expanded her musical palette to many genres from opera to jazz and developed her signature sound by studying her inspirations and incorporating these influences into her fusion of R&B and Soul. Toy Taha attributes her vocal and songwriting abilities to Michael & Janet Jackson, Prince, Teena Marie, Amel Larrieux, Beyoncé, Aretha, Me’Shell Ndegeocello, Stevie Wonder, and more. Taha’s latest EP entitled, EIGHT released July 1st, 2022 gained worldwide attention. Led by the single, “Suite EFX,” which was written and arranged by Toy Taha and produced by Grammy Award-winning producer Dreamlife (NAS, Summer Walker, Ari Lennox, Snoop). “Suite EFX” in conjunction with the opening EP track “Loving On Me” . The second official single “X”  was written and arranged by Toy Taha and produced by Miami producer Apollo V known for multi-genre productions including house, electronic, dance, and pop. Toy Taha composes all of her lyrics and arrangements by herself. Taha’s lyrics are immersed in themes of nostalgia, empowerment, sexuality and declarations of love. Taha’s reemergence is sure to continue making waves in the genres of R&B, midnight soul, quiet storm and more.
