This week we discuss the system of modern enslavement as it affects US descendants of slaves. The false narratives, the systemic traps, the criminalization processes, and the racial disparities which are uniquely over-represented in black communities. DeLa just had their slavery abolition bill #HB298 pass through it's first committee hearing on May 16th. A complete reversal from last years loss in a 9-6 vote. In Louisiana, Black people constituted 33% of state residents, but 52% of people in jail and 67% of people in prison. Since 1970, the total jail population has increased 665%. We're going to explain why.
