Tonight’s guest is Solveig Eggerz. Solveig is a native of Iceland, a storyteller and an instructor of writing, especially life stories and memoir. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literature from Catholic University of America and is an instructor at the Writer’s Center in Bethesda, MD. As a volunteer, she has taught storytelling and writing in D.C. shelters for homeless women. She is the author of the award-winning novel, Seal Woman, published by Unbridled Books this year. Her fiction and non-fiction writings have appeared in The Northern Virginia Review, Palo Alto Review, Lincoln Review, Midstream, Issues, The Journal of the Baltimore Writers Alliance, The Christian Century, and in two anthologies: Open Windows: An Anthology and Defying Gravity: Fiction by D.C. Area Women. In tonight’s interview we try and get a few moments to talk with Solveig about her busy writing life, Seal Woman, and anything else on which she might be currently working.
