5 Women: 4 Seasons is a documentary film that asks the question: how will five young women negotiate what is required of them physically, emotionally and spiritually to live primitively in the Oregon Cascade Mountains for an entire year? For a full year they will live by practicing the skills once used by all indigenous people: skills like producing fire by friction, shelter building, finding edible and medicinal plants, tracking animals and more. These young women will learn the secrets of the forest and, more importantly, the secrets of their souls as one does when in the solitude of nature. This film will transport us into the profound power that nature has on the human psyche.
