Copyright Infringement Essentials - Penalties and Sanctions for "disposing of the evidence."

In this episode of Vondran Legal Hour, Attorney Steve® IP lawyer discusses what happens when you are faced with litigation and possibly receive a litigation hold letter.  In these cases, you have a duty to preserve evidence and if you don't and judgment can be entered against you (in the worst form of intentional spoliation). Or, an "adverse inference" or negative jury instruction could work against you at trial.  The rule at issue is F.R.C.P. 37(e).

If you need help with a software piracy litigation case, or software audit (ex. Business Software Alliance, Vero, Siemens, or Autodesk), photo infringement or Strike 3 Holdings  / Mailbu Media BitTorrent "file-sharing" litigation (or other general copyright infringement) matter give us a call at (877) 276-5084.  These are niche areas under the intellectual property umbrella and we are one of the leading if not the top firm in our business.  We offer low flat rate fees for most non-litigation cases.  We have appeared in over 150 federal court cases in our 15 years of practice.
