GENESIS 4-6 :: FROM PERFECTION TO ANARCHY

God asks Cain why was he angry and looking like his head was coming to a point or why was he so bent out of shape?  Cain was jealous because of God’s favor toward Abel.  Just as Esau and Jacob had done nothing good or bad before they were born, God chose Jacob to be His own.  The same applies to Cain and Abel.  God chose Abel over Cain, and it had nothing to do with Cain’s offering.  Cain’s offering  demonstrated his lack of faith in God while Abel gave his best to honor God, trusting God to provide what he needed.  When we give God our best, it shows how grateful we are.  But when we try to give Him less than our best and try to hold on to the best for ourselves, then we lose it.
