  1. Self-Confidence – This happens when a person begins to discount the wisdom of God found in the scriptures and begins to substitute a wisdom, confidence and understanding of their own.  By doing this they begin to add or even subtract from the word of God as Satan did with Eve and as she herself did.  Sarai was beautiful, and Abram was afraid some Egyptian would kill him in order to take her to be his wife or concubine.  Actually Sarai was his half-sister, so he probably didn't even think that to lie in this instance was a sin.
