TODAYs GUEST:  Cassandra McDonald

Cassandra McDonald is a civil rights activist,  public figure, and a former candidate for State Representative of District 8.  Most recently she made history as the first African-American female to have established  an NAACP branch in Cuyahoga County, and the first to ever establish and become President of the new Euclid NAACP.

She has done significant research as a subject matter expert  in the areas of public policy and law involving the Cleveland Consent  Decree, racial and gender profiling, mental health & addictions, housing discrimination,  urbanization, and others. Cassandra is also the Founder of the LAWRS Foundation, which advocates for social justice and criminal judicial reform.   Her advocacy has led her to appear on BET Live, BET with Roland Martin, HBO, Refinery29 Magazine, and multiple radio show appearances, including  her own show, “Revive Radio,” that was based in Chicago.

Cassandra‘s voice and no nonsense approach has earned her appearances in several upcoming film productions including a  Giant Leap Pictures movie entitled, “The Bleeding Blue,” a documentary entitled, “Cleveland State of Mind,” as well as a movie depicting her true life story, “Definition of Me,”  where Cassandra shares candid moments from her childhood, to her challenges and victories as an adult.
