Junious Ricardo Stanton speaks with lawyer, activist, educational reformer, champion for social and economic justice, Dr. Walter Palmer. Dr Plamer shares what is going on and why the Philadelphia School Reform Commissions is attempting to shut down his charter schools. Plamer is a long time activist who lead demonstrations against the lack of African and African American history curricula in the Philadelphia schools in the 1960's. He created and ran Freedom Schools and alternative schools when the Philadelphia schools were closed due to a prolonged teacher's strike in the 1970's. He worked to halt gang violence and to develop community empowerment, he created street theater to teach African-American history and current events.
