New laws passed in the 2015 84th Texas Legislature take effect on September 1, 2015. We'll discuss these new laws, other legislation passed by the 84th Texas Legislature, and more with Rep. Gonzalez. In November 2012, Rep. Mary Gonzalez was elected State Representatives for Texas State House District 75 -- an area that includes east El Paso County, the fastest growing part of southwest Texas. Mary was raised in Clint, Texas, graduating from Clint High School. Mary received her Bachelor Degree from the University of Texas at Austin and her Master's Degree from St. Edward's University. Currently, she is pursuing her Doctoral degree in Curriculum and Instruction - Cultural Studies in Education at UT-Austin. Rep. Gonzalez has worked at the National Hispanic Institute, the University of Texas at Austin, and as the Assistant Dean for Student Multicultural Affairs at Southwestern University. Rep.Mary Gonzalez has announced her re-election campaign for 2016.
