Listen as Women tell stories of Cutting, Starving and Binging in an effort to warn off Intolerable Pain...While these coping mechanisms are hurtful ways to manage pain, the feelings these women were trying to avoid were much more painful. Invited Women will tell their stories of healing and learning to love themselves in spite of their flaws. Daniel L. Hollar, Ph.D. clinical psychologist will add context to these stores of healing with a discuss on his book and his research on suicide and eating disorders. Suicide rate, self-injurious behaviors and eating disorders are most frequently seen in women with African American women experiencing a dramatic increase.  Lets create a Women's circle of healing, affirmation and support for thousands of women living with intolerable pain.  Join us as will discuss causes and solutions as well as how to affirm and support Women who use these destructive coping behaviors to cope with intolerable pain and body distortions.
