Gumbo Talk: Young, Gifted, and Black

This episode will surround what it is like to live in America as a young and gifted black person. It can be easy or difficult to navigate the terrain of this country depending on the tools you have to make the most of your life. The Gumbo Talk believes there are challenges for certain demographics that need to be discussed. As we discuss these key ingredients of becoming a prosperous individual in America, we must be forthcoming with the facts and our feelings to allow for an accurate portrait of what it takes to be successful. We hope this discussion along with a few young people will help individuals and their families: start a conversation of do's and don'ts; how to trust; who is your ally; what to expect; realize your full potential; and arrive alive.
