Green Career Week 2023 Dr. Janet Phoenix

Green Career Week is February 27 - March 3, 2023.  Join Baltimore Green Justice Workers Cooperative each day this week at 1 pm eastern standard time as Members, Kimberly Armstrong, Lynn Pinder and Marvin Venable, Jr., interview different people who work different types of green careers. On February 28th, meet Dr. Janet Phoenix, MD, MPH, MS. 

Dr. Janet Phoenix is an Assistant Research Professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University in Washington. She served on the CDC Lead Poisoning Advisory Committee and on the Environmental Protection Agency’s Children’s Health Protection Advisory Committee, and she chairs the DC Asthma Coalition. Dr. Phoenix was appointed by the Governor of Virginia to serve on the Advisory Council on Environmental Justice for the State of Virginia. She was elected to Chair that body in 2018. She received her BA in Anthropology from the University of Colorado in Denver and her MD from Howard University.  She also completed a Masters’ degree in Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Master’s degree in Clinical and Translational Sciences at George Washington University.
