Every day it seems headlines shout of sexual assault, the #metoo movement, corporate corruption and violence, all of which might lead to the perception that men are inherently bad. And as men are usually implicated in the vast majority of these instances, it's no wonder that perception is prevalent. But are men really the problem?

Michael Taylor believes the answer is a resounding NO, and in A New Conversation with Men he makes the case that men are trapped in an antiquated—and unsustainable—paradigm of masculinity.

As women continue to make great strides in issues directly impacting them, the roles of manhood are evolving as well, but it has not been a comfortable transition for many men. It's a shift in male culture that Taylor believes will, as a result, begin chipping away at a large portion of society's ills.

The solution, he says, will involve beginning a new conversation with men in which they can feel comfortable expressing their deepest pains and joys, their worst fears and their dreams. In these new dialogues, men strive to be authentic, which leads to men who are better fathers, better lovers, better friends and better men.
