As a Special Advisor for the Clinton Foundation Health Access Initiative supporting field offices in Ethiopia, Tanzania, Malawi, Lesotho and Swaziland, Susie spent many years traveling throughout Africa to work to end the AIDS epidemic. Then, on one of her many trips throughout east and southern Africa, Susie and her husband found themselves in a small rural village in Tanzania where they were introduced to nine AIDS orphans. Feeling compelled to help, they formed an alliance with two Tanzanian educators and gave birth to the Precious Project, which aims to eradicate poverty and illiteracy in the Tanzanian village of Nshupu. The project now educates more than 350 children from vulnerable families.
