Almost 80% of the 44,000 residents of Siskiyou County, CA are in the fight of their lives. They are trying to save 4 dams that the government has decided must be removed. Allegedly removing the dams would preserve a large population of the coho salmon. The government's claim is that the coho salmon is a threatened species and is indigenous to this area, which is a claim the residents of Siskiyou County deny. The residents say the coho salmon is not a native fish and there has always only been a few coho salmon in the area. Many of the residents of Siskiyou County believe this is Agenda 21 at its best, and if successful could possibly be one of the largest land grabs in US history.
