The city of Memphis is due to release the tape that shows the arrest of Tyre Nichols today after 6pm. City leaders are pleading for calm as the tape of the beating of Tyre Nichols at the hands of five Memphis police officers is said to be hard to watch. Nichols, a 29-year-old father died from injuries sustained in his violent encounter with police.. The five officers charged in the murder of Tyre Nichols include Tadarrius Bean, Demetrius Haley, Justin Smith, Desmond Mills, and Emmit Martin. These officers have been charged with 2nd Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Kidnapping, Official Oppression, and Official Misconduct. Ben Crump, the Nichol's family attorney likened the video of Tyre's arrest to the notorious footage of Los Angeles police beating Black motorist Rodney King.
