Niya Blair Hackworth joined the NCAA Office of Inclusion in August 2019 after a decade working at institutions of higher education. As Director of Inclusion, she leads, partners and assists in diversity and inclusion related initiatives Before joining the NCAA, she was the inaugural director of the Center for Diversity and Inclusion at University of Houston where she provided leadership, strategic vision, organization and administrative oversight of campus-wide initiatives, trainings, and programs in the areas of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Blair also worked at three other institutions of higher education in the areas of social justice, diversity, leadership, and minority male programs. She presents at national and regional conferences and for campus and community organizations in the areas of inclusion, intercultural competence and leadership. She is a qualified administrator of the Intercultural Development Inventory, LLC, a tool that measures intercultural competence. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership at Abilene Christian University. She has a bachelor’s in English from the University of Central Arkansas and a master’s in Education with an emphasis in Higher Education from the University of Arkansas.
