Entering her fourth season at Austin Peay, Lisa Varytimidis looks ahead to her first full season as Deputy Director of Athletics while continuing as the department’s Senior Woman Administrator.

Hired in June 2018 as Senior Associate Director of Athletics – overseeing all internal operations, Varytimidis continues to manage all aspects of the Austin Peay student-athlete experience and athletics compliance while serving as athletics' Title IX coordinator.

Varytimidis made an immediate impact in improving the student-athlete experience, implementing both Peayce and LeadHer programming during the summer of 2019.

In addition, the NCAA named Varytimidis to its Division I Women’s Soccer Committee in 2021 with her term running until 2024.

Varytimidis joined Austin Peay’s athletics department after serving five seasons in various roles at Louisiana-Monroe, where she had direct oversight of the indoor and beach volleyball programs as well as the women’s basketball program. In addition, she was the Title IX Coordinator for the ULM athletics department.

The Manhattan, Kansas native was a collegiate volleyball athlete as well, beginning at Barton County Community College before playing her junior year at Georgia and her senior season at then-Northeast Louisiana University (now ULM). Varytimidis has a master’s degree in Sports Administration from Grambling State.
