Dr. Lauren (Cevis) Rhodes is Sr. Associate Athletic Director for Student-Athlete Performance, Health and Welfare at The Pennsylvania State University (PENN STATE). She oversees the Sports Performance Team, serves as sport administrator for multiple sports, and leads the department’s diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts.

Prior to joining the Nittany Lions in August 2021, Dr. Rhodes spent seven years at Jacksonville University, with the most recent role being the department’s Deputy Athletic Director/Senior Woman Administrator. While at Jacksonville, she also was Title IX administrator; oversaw Student-Athlete Services, Sports Medicine, and Strength Conditioning; and was sport administrator for multiple sports. Dr. Rhodes also held roles at University of Maryland, University of Georgia, and George Washington University.

Dr. Rhodes is a member of several professional organizations, honor societies, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. A native of Glen Burnie, Maryland, she graduated from University of Maryland with a bachelor’s in communication (concentrations in rhetoric and social influence). She earned her master’s in sports industry management from Georgetown University and her Master of Business Administration and Doctorate in Business Administration from Jacksonville University. 

Dr. Rhodes and her husband Jared reside in State College, PA with their daughter Ryleigh.
