Synita Gates was named Asst. Director of Game/Event Management at Louisiana State University in July 2021. She serves as the primary game operations manager for Volleyball, Gymnastics, Men’s and Women’s Tennis, and Softball.

Prior to joining the Tigers, Gates spent two years at The University of Akron where she managed the day-to-day operations of the James A. Rhodes Arena and oversaw the rental of Shrank Turf Field. Additionally, she was game manager for women’s volleyball, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, and softball.

Prior to joining the Zips, Gates was at The University of California, Merced, where she was game manager for cross country, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s and women’s volleyball. 

The Cleveland, Ohio native began her career at The University of Charleston (W.Va.) where she earned a bachelor’s degree in sport administration with a minor in business administration in 2013. She then worked as a graduate assistant at the University of Toledo, where she earned a master’s degree in recreation administration in 2016. She is a current member of CEFMA, MOAA, and Women’s Leaders
