Marquita Armstead is Nebraska's Executive Associate Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator. She came to Nebraska in February 2022 from the University of South Florida, where she spent almost six years.

At USF, Armstead rose from the position of Associate Athletic Director for Compliance to Senior Associate Director of Athletics/Senior Woman Administrator. She was sport administrator for multiple sports and oversaw several USF student-athlete support departments.
  
In her position with the Huskers, Armstead has sport supervision for men's basketball and volleyball. She's a member of the Big Ten Sport Management Council, has oversight of athletic medicine, sports psychology, the athletic performance lab (NAPL), strength and conditioning, performance nutrition, Title IX and gender equity.
 
In addition to USF, Armstead was an athletic administrator at Georgia Tech and University of Tennessee Chattanooga. She also held compliance internships at Mississippi State and Ohio University.
 
Armstead earned her bachelor's degree (2005) and master's of sports administration (2006) from Mississippi State and her MBA from UT Chattanooga (2013). She is a 2012 NCAA Leadership Institute graduate. She is married to Demetric Armstead, and they have a son, Braylon.
