Denise Thompson is Associate AD for Communications and Creative Services at University of Delaware. She oversees all aspects of the Communications and Creative Services and Multimedia departments with an emphasis in digital and strategic growth.

Prior to Delaware, she was Assistant Commissioner for Communications and External Affairs for the Big Sky Conference. She also served as Assistant AD for Communications at Northern Arizona University and worked with the media departments at Texas State University and University of Memphis.  

She graduated cum laude from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a bachelor's degree in communications. She was a four-year member of the cross country and track & field teams, captain her senior season, and three-time Northeast Conference Championship medalist. She later earned a master’s degree in sport management from Texas State.

A member of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), she's held multiple leadership positions and was 2020-21 CoSIDA President's Award recipient. She is chair of the Black College Sports Information Directors of America (BCSIDA) and a member of the NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four Media Coordination team.
