Dr. Jamira A. Mitchell, dubbed Dr. JAM, is a high school career and technical education instructor. She earned her Ph.D. in Education with a concentration in Sports Business Management. Dr. JAM is not a rookie to the sports industry; she has been an enthusiast since she could hold her head up. By watching her dad, a local sports editor, Dr. JAM learned how to record stats and take sports action shots when she was old enough to run.

Dr. JAM’s knowledge of sports allowed her to excel as an educator. She observed a concerning perspective between student-athletes and their lack of personal branding; she knew that your name is your brand as a student-athlete. This ignited a spark in her to educate her students and others about the importance of branding beyond the field or court.

Upon the incorporation of Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) in high school and collegiate athletics, she decided to include gems for her student-athletes to excel. With those gems planted, her students sought more knowledge for proper branding. Those gems paved the road for the diamond: The NIL Spot Podcast, which allows Dr. JAM to ignite her passion for sports with education. Her goal is to increase the influence of athletes—both amateurs and professionals—by building a solid personal brand.
