Come join us for a great conversation with Leah Turner at 2 PM EST on The Chris & Sandy Show.

Leah Turner is the living version of a country song with a passion all its own.

Her father, Don Turner, was a true-blue world champion rodeo star. In earlier days as a Coca Cola distributor, Don delivered a shipment to a deli where he first caught eyes with Susaña Galvan; a jewelry designer, artist and ballet dancer. From this American love story, fiery Leah Turner sat down to a piano at 3 years old and has not stopped since. It was inevitable that all roads would eventually lead to Nashville.

Turner’s latest single, “Once Upon a Time in Mexico”, co-written and produced by Jesse Frasure, is an ode to her parents’ own love story. The song tells the story of a señorita who falls in love with a vaquero (cowboy), south of the border. What sets Turner’s music truly apart is her unique blend of country and Latin sounds – slipping into Spanish as if she was born to use both languages. And of course, she was. This red-hot combination makes Turner’s sound completely unique, while at the same time, sticking fast to its true roots.

“Country music has always had a love affair with the Hispanic culture,” she said. “I’m just the product of a good old-fashioned country song.”
