Marlins Mayhem Week 5

Episode 7: Jason Bryant Jennings and Brandon Elliott, Head Coach of Virginia Wesleyan Softball, recap the NFCA D-III Leadoff Classic.  This past weekend the Marlins finished undefeated at the NFCA D-III Leadoff Classic moving the program's overall record to 14-0.   G1: (16-4 in 5inn) vs. William Paterson-Amy Large blasted a grand slam in the top of the first and a two-run shot in the top of the second.  Peters had four K's, no earned runs and the win after throwing three innings.  G2: (2-1 in 8inn) vs. Moravian-Freshman Kerrigan Simpson doubled to bring the winning run home.  Hanna Hull collected her sixth win of the year from the circle, allowing only a single hit and striking out 10.  G3: (10-2 in 5inn) vs. ETBU-Amy Large continued her offensive power putting VWU up 4-0 in the first with a two-run shot.  G4: (18-3 in 6inn) vs. Birmingham Southern-Marlins tagged 20 hits in just six innings, 11 of which went for extra bases.  The final two games saw the Marlins defeat Rochester by a score of (14-6 in 5inn) and Texas Lutheran (5-0.).   Coach Elliott Twitter, Marlins Softball Twitter, Marlins Softball Facebook, Clutch Play Radio Twitter, Clutch Play Radio Facebook
