Computer America

Hours one and two: Michael Miller.  Today as the upcoming Windows 8.1 release date approaches, we take an even closer look. Plus the new short-video sharing services, in particular Vine (6-second videos) and Instagram Video (15-second videos). Then we talk about MixBit (let’s users shoot 16-second videos but then offers editing to make videos 1-2 minutes long) – not quite the same as the others, but some are lumping it into the group. We discuss how these services (actually smartphone and tablet apps) work, why the short-video time limitations, what types of people are using them, how popular they are (very), what types of videos they’re producing, how to get the most out of each service, and so forth.
