In their ongoing series about what Christian worship looks like, and what followers of Jesus think they are doing when they gather week by week, pastors Erica and Steve keep unpacking the ancient patterns of Christian worship.  Like a symphony in four movements, we begin with Gathering, and then the Word, and then some response to the Word--often involving the Meal of Christ's followers called Holy Communion, the Lord's Supper, or the Eucharist--and then a Sending back into the world.  Coming from different branches of the Christian family tree, Erica and Steve look at how their own traditions think and talk about the Meal of Jesus, and what the various ways of practicing it mean. And even though Christians have found all sorts of ways to let themselves be divided over the particulars of Jesus' meal (how often should you have it, is it wine or is it grape juice or both, is Christ there or is this just a symbol, and on and on and on), Erica and Steve try and recover the beating heart of this event and what brings us together in it.  Join in the conversation as we pick up where we left off last episode in the four-fold pattern of Christian worship.
