It's easy (relatively speaking) to be a hero when everyone is applauding for what you do--to rescue the puppies, to save the children from the burning house, or when Superman stop the masked bank robbers.  It is harder to be a hero when people are actively criticizing you, trying to silence you, or threatening your life for the stand you are taking.  That kind of courage is a powerful (and much needed!) example for everybody these days, men and women.  So join pastors Erica and Steve for a conversation about one such hero whose subversive and powerful story is told in the Bible, whose name is Esther.  We'll explore how someone who was given a position of privilege risked losing it all in an act of civil disobedience that earned a lot of criticism from other powerful people living in the Persian empire. And we'll take a look at how we are called to speak up and stand up from our perspectives and positions of privilege for people who are on the margins, and how God can move through those actions even without the heavens parting and a voice from the sky.  Join us for Part Two in our series, "Heroes for All," as we look at Esther's story.
