Episode 107: Hard Sayings of the New Testament--Pauline Letters

In the last episode of their series on Hard Sayings of the New Testament, pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve take a look at a verse from late in the New Testament, in one of the letters to Timothy.  In addition to looking a little bit at the open question of authorship, and whether we have Paul the Apostle writing, or a later teacher writing in Paul's name, the trio looks at what might, or might not, be at issue when a passage talks about women "being saved through childbirth."  How do we wrestle with passages that seem to be in contradiction to other passages, and how do we use the whole arc of Scripture, the character of Jesus, and the "loudness" of the chorus of voices to decide how to sift through complicated passages?  And how do we deal with passages that are obscure or confusing, without getting hung up on them, or just cutting books out of our Bibles that we don't like?  Join us for this final episode in our Hard Sayings of the New Testament series!
