As they continue asking the Big Question, "Wait--what actually happened at the cross?" pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve look at a passage from the New Testament that many believe is a fragment of an even earlier Christian hymn or song, the so-called "Christ hymn" of Philippians 2.  And instead of fitting neatly into later-developed boxes and categories that theologians call "atonement theories," the imagery of the God who self-empties and endures "even death on a cross" offers new pictures, and new ways of thinking about what the cross is all about.  In a culture like ours that so often shouts about putting "Me and My Group First," the notion of a God who put others first, and who teaches us to put others' needs before our own is a downright radical one. We'll talk about how this passage speaks today, what it meant for the first followers of Jesus, and what surprises it holds for us today, in this latest episode of Crazy Faith Talk.  Check it out here!
