It's convenient to have all the sixty-plus books of the Old and New Testaments in one set of faux-leather covers, but we can sometimes forget that the Bible is really a collection of books in different styles, genres, and settings, written by men and women from different cultures, languages, social situations, and nationalities.  And just like we would know the difference between how to read a murder mystery and how to read a cookbook, it's wise to know the difference between laws for managing your agrarian society and poetry about the meaning of life--and you'll find both in the Bible!  So in this new series, pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve take a look at the different kinds of literature (genres) in the Bible, and they start with the first five books, often called the Pentateuch, the Torah, or sometimes the Books of Moses or the Law.  And along the way, we'll talk about superhero origin stories, ancient Greek myths, and times when the Bible is a musical!  Join us for the beginning of a new round of conversation here on Crazy Faith Talk!
