They were less soothsayers and more truth-tellers.  The prophets of Israel and Judah were willing to speak a minority report over against popular opinion, the decrees of the market, and the official position of the palace. And they keep speaking to us.  In this latest episode of "Crazy Faith Talk," pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve continue looking at the different kinds of literature in the Bible, and today they look at the prophets.  Even though we regard them today as authoritative and inspired voices of the Scriptures, in their own times, the prophets were regularly ridiculed, ignored, doubted, or just plain silenced, especially when they spoke truth to the powers of the day. Reading them today often means understanding the current issues of their times in the ancient kingdoms of Israel and Judah, and yet they speak powerfully and timelessly today to us in their call on God's behalf for justice, mercy, and faithfulness.  Join the conversation today!
