In this last episode of their Advent exploration of pop culture that connects to the season, pastors Erica, Sarah, and Steve explore the 2007 movie, "The Nativity Story," and the challenges movie-makers have in bringing a Bible story to life. What details do you need to hold onto, and what other details can be shared with images that simply aren't there in a written text?  How do we bring together Matthew's version and Luke's version of the story?  Where do we use our "faithful imaginations" for guessing what a given moment or scene might have felt like?  And where do we rely on later traditions, even if we don't know how they "actually" happened? It turns out there's a lot to think about when you're bringing a Bible story to new eyes and ears.  So, even though you've likely heard the story of Jesus' birth plenty of times before, join the conversation today as we ask the less-frequently-asked question of how we find new ways to retell ancient stories in each new generation.  Join us for this Christmas-week episode of Crazy Faith Talk!
