Okay, so maybe you know the basics of the Christian faith: we believe in God, who is both the Creator of all things, and who has come to be revealed in Jesus of Nazareth and dwells among us by the Spirit.  We have a book of Scripture.  And so on.  But maybe we can go a little further.  This fall, we invite you to a closer look and a deeper dive beyond those basics in a series we're calling, "Christianity 202," to do just that. In this first episode, pastors Sarah, Erica, and Steve offer some guard-rails and rules of thumb for how to read the Scriptures wisely and faithfully.  In the course of this conversation we'll look at questions like, "Why does my Bible have a different set of books from some others Christians' Bibles?"  "How do I know what to take literally... and what is not intended to be literal?"  and "How can I be aware of the assumptions, agendas, and baggage that I bring to the text when I read--and what should I do about them?"  We hope you'll find this series valuable for your own engagement both with the Scriptures and with your faith as a whole--check out "Christianity 202" here on Crazy Faith Talk.
