Tomorrow I will have the pleasure of interviewing domestic violence survivor author Irish J. Benton. We are breaking the silence! Dial—(657) 383-0791

Author Irish Benton:

Reflection moment: I often think about how far I've come in just 4 years shy of leaving my last abuser. I sometimes sit and think about what if I had continued the cycle of abuse. 1. Tension building, we argued about things he accused me of doing that I didn't do. It became so bad that I would begin to think that maybe I had done it. 2. Physical & emotional abuse every week. Every week I lived a life of cussing and arguing, and he would strike me in the head or face and I would NEVER hit him back, I would just scream and yell, GET OUT or some vulgarity. 3. Honey moon phase where he was back with me and saying and doing all the right things to keep me in his chaotic cycle. I accepted his back and forthness of him coming and going when he felt like it.

Today: I'm an author of two books with a third in the works. Today I am the PRESIDENT of my own non-profit to FIGHT for women in domestic violence. I fight with passion and purpose! Today I have assisted over 15 women and NONE of them have died on my clock. Most have gotten out and finding their purpose. Some are still trying to figure some things out, but by GOD; they are ALIVE!
