The role of women in society has changed throughout history, In America, women have advanced far beyond the role they once were relegated to as homemakers and subservient to men, who could not own property, who were not allowed to work outside the home, and who could not vote, to being business owners and chief executives of major corporations.
In tonight's episode, we discuss the changing role of women and their outstanding contributions to our society, and what the future holds. We will also discuss how these changes have affected women of color. And, we will discuss the recent revelations about how widespread sexual assault and especially sexual harassment is in the workplace.
Joining me for this discussion is Cornell University Professor, Dr. Judith Byfield. In addition to being an associate professor of history at Cornell University, she is a specialist on African history, and is the author of numerous books and articles on colonialism, nationalism, women's history, and the African diaspora.
Please join us and experience this journey through time as we honor the contributions of women making history, yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
