The Lionel SHIPman $HAPE YOUR FINANCES Show is a financial and life empowerment show focusing on our lives around money and finances. The show aims to educate and motivate people to improve their financial outlooks and empower them to take charge of their lives and to live life to the fullest.

Tonight: Guest Lynne Finch (Award-winning author)

Discussing the financial principles of her book, The No-Cash Allowance.

In her book, Finch explains that having kids start by tracking their allowance with pencil and paper gives them a visual understanding that money exists as a number. Seeing the balance change with each money event is a learning experience in itself.  Giving the child responsibility for tracking their money relieves parents of trying to remember allowance payments and eliminates confusion about if or when allowances were paid. A no-cash allowance places continuing control of cash and non-cash money in the hands of the child to create a child-size version of real-life money management and responsibility that is similar to that of an adult.

She writes, blogs and speaks about kids and money. Her keen insight into the world of children resulted in several award-winning stories for children. She has received numerous awards for non-fiction as well as adult fiction. Her published writing includes how-to, humor, and opinion pieces.

Follow Lynne’s common sense approach to learn how to teach your children to manage money as a number. For more insight into the topic visit her blog at www.NoCashAllowance.com.
