She is a professional speaker, certified life coach, and business consultant who works with individuals that want to strengthen their confidence, eliminate their fear, and unlock their potential so that they can maximize their life and achieve their goals. She is a proud Cum Laude graduate from Western Kentucky University, and was initiated into the Phi Eta Sigma, an academic national honor society as a Freshman, and later joined the first black Greek sorority, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated in 2006. She received a prestigious award by receiving the National Pan Hellenic Council (NPHC) highest GPA award among black sororities on campus in 2006! She believes in working hard, being fearless, and blazing your own trail.

After moving to Louisville, Kentucky in 2010, she defined what it means to live fearlessly, by making an unpredictable move, by enrolling and graduating from Paul Mitchell the school Louisville. It was there that she won a national cosmetology contest, was voted Student Council President, and landed her dream job shortly after graduating.

Demetria Gilkey is holds the candidate membership status with the National Speakers Association, is a graduate of the Academy of the National Speakers Association Kentucky Chapter and also holds the prestigious Bob Pike trainer certification.
She writes regularly for magazines and association publications. Her articles have been featured in multiple outlets such as The International Spa Association, Sola Salon Studios, Kentucky Restaurant Journal and many more.
