Black, beautiful, smart a bright future ahead of a young girl. Mother does little to no sex talk with her daughter. Black, beautiful, smart girl goes off to college and gets pregnant as a teenager. This is not a new story; however this black, beautiful, smart young mother is NOT a statistic – with determination and outside support, this young mother straps her baby on her back and goes after her college degree, and she succeeds. WITHOUT parental support from her religious, church bound mother, her baby's father abuses her; this black, beautiful, smart single mother has a name: Ladae Williams; her life story is too real to be fiction… Please join Denise Bolds, MSW and her very special guest Thomastrius “Ladae” Williams, as we talk about Ladae’s journey from being a black, beautiful, smart girl to a successful, empowered single black mother. Ladae Williams’ book “Too Real to be Fiction” is a true story about overcoming life challenges. An inspirational, wild journey that will draw you in until the very last page. Williams is making her debut as a published author. Williams, originally from a Chicago suburb, has been developing her love for writing since grammar school. Williams graduated from Syracuse University's Speech Communication Department, followed by a Master Degree in Communication Management from Keller School of Management. In 2008, Williams began a small business venture called Pride Pillows, creating a successful custom body pillow company. Williams now resides in Atlanta, GA with her husband and three children. The story of her journey is truly an amazing one. Williams intends to continue writing, as well as provide motivational speeches to inspire others pursuing their educational goals. Here is a ‘shero’ in our midst – an inspiration of empowerment for black teen single mothers, you are not a victim; you are VICTORIOUS! You are not a statistic, you are a SUCCESS STORY!!! GET READY TO BE EMPOWERED!!!
