This show is dedicated to my dear friend Pat Vinson who died from breast cancer. I still miss her. Cancer does not discriminate, however finding resources and support can be challenging for a woman of color. Sisters Network® Inc. is committed to increasing local and national attention to the devastating impact that breast cancer has in the African American community. An estimated 19,540 new cases of breast cancer are expected to occur among African American women in 2009. African American women have a five year survival rate of 77% after diagnosis as compared to 90% for white women. Please join Denise Bolds, MSW and special guest Ms. Kelly P. Hodges, National Program Director of Sister’s Network as the discussion focuses on breast cancer awareness month for African American women –all year long. Get Ready to be Empowered!
