An eveing of EMPOWERMENT! Please join Denise Bolds, MSW social worker, author, parent advocate and her very special guests: Mrs. Benita Lovett-Rivera Co-Founder and Executive Director of MANY and Khem Irby, Co-Founder of MANY as we talk about mother empowerment!
MANY are women-humanists advocating for thoughtful and well implemented policies that support women and mothers in public education, housing, transportation, health care, child care, jobs and civic participation in New York City.
The Mothers’ Agenda NY is a mothers’ and women’s human rights advocacy and membership organization.
The MANY was started by a small group of moms, teachers and community activists, who besides being mostly women of color, had another common bond: our concern for children, their educations and our frustration with being treated badly by elected officials, NYC agencies (especially the Department of Education), and their awful policies. Through a membership that embraces all ages and ethnicities of women and mothers, we are standing together on human rights and social justice issues; gearing up in mass to address the city’s numerous social problems that most affect our lives-- and the lives and futures of our children, young and old. GET READY TO BE EMPOWERED!!!
