ERN Presents A W.A.R. Special Event-Tim Horbaker And Death Of The Territories

We have in the past interviewed several wrestling personalities who have written books about the industry from the inside. Bobby "Blaze" Smedley with "Pin Me Pay Me" and "I Kicked Out At Two", Kenny "Starmaker" Bolin and "I Probably Screwed You Too The (Mostly) True Stories Of Kenny "Starmaker" Bolin and Bill Apter with the legendary "Is Wrestling Fixed? I Didn't Know It Was Broken". Tonight, we present to you the author of several books on not only professional wrestling but baseball. This book, however, may prove to be his biggest, and possibly most controversial yet.

Today, the latest book by author Tim Hornbaker, "Death of the Territories: Expansion, Betrayal and the War that Changed Pro Wrestling Forever" was published by ECW Press. In it, Tim tells the history of how the territory system developed, the infighting and backroom deals that made and broke numerous promotions over the years, and how the creation and expansion of cable TV and an enterprising Vincent Kennedy McMahon changed the face of the professional wrestling industry forever. 

Your hosts have been able to read the book and it is an amazing read and a fascinating history lesson for both the wresting afficionado and the new fan who may not be aware of the long history of the industry and may only be learning about the past now due to events such as "ALL IN". Steve even learned that what he had learned in the past was not how things actually were. This will be a very interesting conversation.
