We've talked over the last several months about the insanity that has surrounded the wrestling business since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. As things change and fans, to a limited extent, are allowed back into events, it seems the idea is becoming, at least among the independents, who can be the most over the top. This past weekend in Indianapolis, The Collective, a group of events happened, many of them originated under the GCW banner. There were some controversial situations that occured during the event, two of which involved brothers who have a well known name. One of the incidents even made legendary wrestler/manager "Dirty" Dutch Mantell sit up and take notice.
Speaking of controversy, it seems Dylan "Lars Sullivan" Miley can't seem to stay away from it. The current SmackDown star, who returned last week after a long hiatus due to videos being leaked when some disparaging internet postings were revealed seems to have done it again, this time with someone who was involved in his rehabilitation efforts. Is Adeel "Mustafa Ali" Alam being buried again after having been revealed the week before as the leader of Retribution? Did Mercedes Martinez escape being saddled with a bad gimmick name by being promoted? What about Mia Yim and her name? And what were those deleted tweets from Andrade and Charlotte Flair? Did you get in the Thunderdome? Well you might STILL be in it, even when you actually aren't. Meanwhile, an independent promotion in Alabama is being forced to leave for what appears to be some very poor reasons.
WWE and AEW both have their eye on some talent they'd like to possibly add to their rosters. Aron Stevens talks about taking over booking for Championship Wrestling From Hollywood. John Cena has been keeping busy with a new wife and a new endorsement deal.
Katie, Steve and Sean will discuss these stories and even more tonight.
