Why is there no victim in the Quran?

Because Dha-Ha-Y, the base-stem for the word “Victim” in Arabic, is never used in the Quran for what english speakers mean when they speak of human “Victims”.  So “Victim” (as understood in English) is never used in the Quran.

Other words like Qurban and Dhabihan can be used for the english word “Victim”.  In fact, the English word “Victim” comes from the late 15th century Latin victima - denoting a creature killed as a religious sacrifice. So these two Arabic terms and the Latin original denote the same thing, Religious Sacrifice.

However, these Quranic Arabic terms are used only for blood animal sacrifices (as in the original Latin) and outright killing which is, of course in our understanding, a type of “victimization” but there is no usage that equates to the human being in the noun form as a “Victim” in the Quran.
