"The West was oppressing the intellect of the masses, oppressing their women, neglecting their intellect, had gone off on some trip, thinking that they were god, that man is god, that man should exercise that godly potential or that godly force in him, he should exercise it so that he grow more and more into his god image.  They were so fascinated by that thing that they were neglecting that God intended for man on this earth.  And it was the Muslims directly motivated by Qur'an, the scripture from God called Qur'an, the last revelation, and by Muhammad the Prophet, peace be upon him, his teachings and his life.  It was because of that, that the Muslims themselves entered enthusiastically into the field of scientific research, and improved upon what had been put aside, ignored and lost of science from the great world of science that had lived before the Muslim, especially the Greeks.  The revived those sciences, and involved non-Muslims and non-Arabs in that work, and because of that, the spark for that kind of regeneration reached Europe and brought what as known in history as the "Renaissance," the renaissance of the sciences and cultures."  Imam W.
