UDL: People are like Gold and Silver

Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) saying, “People are like gold and silver; those who were best in Pre-Islamic Period of Ignorance are best in Islam, if they have religious understanding; and the souls are like recruited soldiers, they get mixed up with those similar to them in qualities and they drift away from those who do not share their qualities.”

The Prophet said, "The descendants of Adam have been created in various categories. Some are born in circumstances which favor Believing and they live and die as believers; some are born in circumstances which favor disbelief and live and die disbelievers; some are born in circumstances which favor that favor belief and they live as believers, but die as disbelievers; some are born in circumstances which favor disbelief and live as disbelievers, but die believers."
