Amazon has the Dominant Network effect for Merchandise; Reached its tipping point; Knocked down the Big Box Stores (who have their niche in the merchandise ecosystem) and is immovable as to Sales of Merchandise (“energy” = interest, utilization multiplied by users)  

Google has the Dominant Network effect for Search Engines; Reached its tipping point; Knocked down Yahoo and Bing (who have their niche in the search engine ecosystem) and is immovable as to information seeking and Data Retrieval (“energy” = interest, utilization multiplied by users) 

Facebook has the Dominant Network effect for Social Networking Reached its tipping point; without any competition but now there are other Social Networking Platforms; Twitter; IG [owner??], TikTok, SnapChat et.al (who have their niche in the Social Networking ecosystem) but currently FB is immovable as to Social Networking (“energy” = interest, utilization multiplied by users)

BTC has the Dominant Network effect for Monetary Energy (Store of value). It has yet to reach its tipping point. However, it is fundamentally without any competition as an Institutional Grade Safe Haven Investment Asset.  

“Switching Costs” protect the (old) paradigm like Facebook because currently it has the greater Network Effect compared to its competitors in Social Networking.
