There is a University of Human Knowledge from the divine source in just this hadith—
Intelligent Questioning Hadrat Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that Prophet Muhammad (may Allah's blessings and peace be upon him) said: "Moderation in expenditure is half of economy, friendship with good people is half of wisdom and intelligent questioning is half of knowledge". Shuabul Imaan of Imaam Bayhaqi #6148.
